What is the Cubs?

Cubs is a platform for you to help the community (Sri Lankan or wider) in any way you see fit. This could include beach cleanups, movie nights, helping old folks homes, running social events for our youth like cricket, and so much more. These events would be run and organised by you. Even though the Canta Lankans Committee will oversee the cubs, you guys have a lot of freedom.

What is the goal?

One of the main goals for us is that we want you to become meaningful members of the community and the workforce in the future. To be successful, you need to have effective communication, teamwork, leadership, and social skills. We believe that being a Cub will offer you the opportunity to build on these skills with your peers and have fun while doing it. The cubs will be something that you can put on your CV and will make a huge difference with your job search in the future (whether that be internships or full-time jobs, not to mention the soft skills you will get out of this!).

What are their responsibilities?

You may meet with the other cubs to discuss the kind of events you would like to hold. You may organise and set up these events. You may be involved with events that we (the Canta Lankans Committee) run. We, as Canta Lankans, expect to be updated on your plans and the progress of your events. There is a lot of autonomy here, guys; take charge!
